About this release
Beppe Loda revisits Italian disco recordings shaped by Middle Eastern musical influences on Disco Arabica. The four-track EP follows his earlier Obscure Cuts: Italian Arabic Disco release and brings another selection of those crossover sounds to Maledetta Discoteca. ‘Layla’ and ‘Iran No Ra’ occupy the first side, with ‘Hava Nageela’ and ‘Ultima Fuga’ on the reverse. Across the four reworks, Loda keeps the focus on the meeting of disco rhythms and the melodic influences running through his chosen material.
