About this release
NATIONAL AVERAGE. finds BIG SPECIAL reflecting on the changes surrounding their second album, from ambition and life on the road to the personal questions that follow. The first part carries confidence and forward motion, while the second turns towards reflection and darker feelings, with the duo’s black humour running throughout. Their sound expands to include funk elements without losing the directness of their writing. Thirteen tracks move from THE MESS. and GOD SAVE THE PONY. through to I ONCE HAD A KESTREL. and THIN HORSES. This SOAKLPA610 edition presents the album on solid white vinyl.
Format: Solid white vinyl LP; independent-store edition
Label: So Recordings
