About this release
Błoto's Grzybnia takes its title from the Polish word for mycelium, using collective growth as a metaphor for the quartet's working method. Latarnik, Cancer G, Wuja HZG and OlafSaxx recorded the album at Warsaw's Studio Pasterka in January 2023 with engineer Piotr Zabrodzki. Piano, synthesisers, bass, drums and saxophones move between spiritual jazz, hip-hop rhythms and improvised electronics, with house and techno also informing the music. Kwazar contributes flute on Muchomor and worked with the group on mixing and mastering. Astigmatic presents the nine tracks on a 180g LP in a gatefold sleeve designed by Sainer.
