About this release
Los Angeles crew Boogie Down Edits reshape four De La Soul favourites for house dancefloors on De La House. ‘Saturday’ opens with a loose hip-house feel, followed by the bumping swing of ‘Me Myself And I’. The B-side adds a heavier bass foundation to ‘Buddy’ before closing with a vocoder-led version of ‘Say No Go’. The edits keep recognisable musical elements from the original tracks while adjusting the grooves for mixing, placing familiar hip-hop material in a more explicitly club-focused setting. This first volume brings those four reworks together on one twelve-inch record.
