Candido - Dancin' & Prancin'

Candido Camero brings his conga playing into a disco setting on Dancin’ & Prancin’, recorded for Salsoul in 1979. His multi-percussion approach gives the four-on-the-floor arrangements a distinctive rhythmic character, connecting a long career in jazz bands with the club sound of the period. The album includes his version of Olatunji’s ‘Jingo’ and ‘Thousand Finger Man’, alongside the opening title track and closing ‘Rock & Shuffle (Ah-Ha)’. Each performance leaves room for extended grooves and percussion, making the record a meeting point between Latin rhythm and disco production. This Real Gone Music edition presents the complete album on black vinyl.
