Chris Mack - Set It Off

Old Soul Records revisits Chris Mack’s “Set It Off” with the original white-label version and two alternative mixes drawn from his archive. Rooted in the formative sound of UK garage and two-step, the release centres on the original recording rather than the later reworked version associated with the Pure Garage compilation. The A-side gives the Original White Label Mix a full side of the twelve-inch, while the reverse pairs the Bang Mix with the Original Dub. Together, the three versions offer different approaches to the same tune, preserving the direct character of Mack’s early DAT recordings.
