About this release
Discotecas 006 explores different sides of rave through four rearrangements built around breakbeats, bass and familiar fragments. ‘Perceptive’ opens with edited drums and a spacious low end, while ‘Kazbah’ combines chanting, acid lines and a rolling break. The reverse moves through the UK garage and techno meeting point of ‘Bass Instinct’ before ‘Ask a Dream’ lowers the tempo and brings piano into focus. The result follows a changing course through club rhythms, moving from the heavier opening tracks towards a gentler closing cut. All four pieces appear on this Discotecas 12-inch.
