About this release
DJ Nobu draws on meditation and the four Brahmaviharas for Shō, connecting finely worked techno with states of joy, compassion, kindness and equanimity. Mudita opens with kinetic energy, while Karuna takes inspiration from Wim Wenders’ film Perfect Days. Metta explores emotional expression without words, and Upekkha turns towards calm through hypnotic repetition. These ideas shape a reflective sequence in which rhythm and atmosphere carry the narrative rather than vocals. The vinyl edition adds Tathatā, extending the four-track digital programme with an exclusive closing piece and completing the EP’s movement between physical momentum and inward focus.
