About this release
DJ Spen develops the music and community of his Sunday Praise Party livestream into an album for Quantize. Gospel vocals meet house arrangements across collaborations with Shawn Hibbler, Inaya Day, Barbara Tucker, Tasha LaRae, Dawn Tallman and other singers and producers. The project began during the pandemic with an encouragement to share music and hope online, and that collective focus carries into the recordings. This double-vinyl selection includes Total Praise, War Cry, Goin’ Up Yonder and Trust In God, closing with DJ Spen and Kasper Burnstein’s album mix of I Love The Lord. Voices, organ, piano and rhythm connect the different collaborations.
