About this release
Paolo Fedreghini’s FAM Disco explores the musical atmosphere of crime cinema on Blaxploitation, bringing jazz-funk and disco together with understated electronic production. The album imagines an urban world of pursuit, suspense and late-night movement, using the sound of 1970s and 1980s film music as its starting point. Rather than a score for one film, the programme develops that cinematic approach across original tracks, moving between funk-led rhythms and more polished disco arrangements. Groove Culture presents the twelve-track album across a double LP, with Blaxploitation opening the sequence and Messenger Of Love closing the final side.
