About this release
Fred P opens the Base label with Galaxy Walk, a deep house record built from spacious textures, jazzy details and shuffling percussion. The Journey Mix places spoken words in the foreground while melodic motifs drift behind them, giving the rhythm an expansive, reflective feel. Modern Art Talk continues that atmosphere with warm layers and a voice considering the creative process. Inner Channels takes a dustier route, using muted chords and brighter melodic phrases that retain the looseness of a live jam. Across the EP, Fred Peterkin balances intricate layering with room for individual sounds to breathe, keeping the music intimate even as it looks outward.
