About this release
Group Modular’s Hecker / Sharon is the second release in Mule Driver and Markey Funk’s seven-inch series, developed with Confused Machines and Delights. The duo take inspiration from late-twentieth-century brutalist architecture, using repeating patterns and electronic textures to explore images of urban growth and decay. Hecker builds through an unusual repeating cycle, suggesting a city in constant development. Sharon turns towards a slower, more reflective mood, drawing on early-1980s Bruton library music and the atmosphere of residential streets at night. Both pieces were written, performed and produced by the duo.
