About this release
HiFi Sean opens DJ Versions with two interpretations of Amy, developed from an edit originally made for his own sets. The dub came first, circulating privately among fellow DJs before requests for a vocal version led to the pairing heard here. Both were made using the original multitrack stems. Amy (011) adds weight to the rhythm section while retaining the strings, horns and lead vocal; Amy Dub (012) reduces the vocal presence and gives the instrumentation more space. The two approaches connect the source recording’s soul character with Sean’s house and disco sensibility.
