About this release
Sweet Chariot brings Detroit vocalist and songwriter Ideeyah together with producer Meftah for six tracks on Sound Signature. “Invocation”, featuring Maimunah Baqui, opens with spoken words and cosmic synthesizers before “Align” moves into a deeper, jazz-informed broken rhythm. “Light” gives space to keys and layered vocals, while “2020” settles into a slower groove. On the reverse, “Eat The Plants” and the title track continue the record’s reflective, soulful character. The release centres Ideeyah’s voice and storytelling within Meftah’s patient production, drawing on Detroit’s musical community across a compact single-LP programme.
