About this release
Tangent Edits Vol.1 gathers three reworks associated with the London party run by John Gómez and Nick the Record. Nick teams with Dan Tyler of the Idjut Boys on Leo Basel's Quelle Drôle De Vie, reshaping its 1987 Special Remix. Love Isaacs' Surprise Surprise follows in a delay-heavy João Gomes and Dan Tyler rework that extends its electro-funk groove. On the reverse, Nick stretches Rick Asikpo and Afro Fusion's Let's Get High into a twelve-minute arrangement, drawing on the closing section of the original. Mr Bongo presents the three edits together in a die-cut sleeve.
