About this release
Kanyon and B.ROD share Floorspeed's fourth release, bringing two approaches to stripped-back, hypnotic techno onto a split 12 inch. New York producer Kanyon takes the A-side with Meet Your Maker, Escape From New York and I'm Gonna, using spiralling sound design and locked-in rhythmic repetition. B.ROD answers with Exit and Down With It, a pair of West Coast cuts with a funkier edge. Across the five tracks, the emphasis stays on movement and gradual development, with arrangements built to sit inside extended DJ blends. A meeting of focused loop work and physical, hardware-driven club rhythms.
