About this release
Tuff Cut #1 opens Late Nite Tuff Guy's series with three reworks drawn from disco, pop and R&B recordings. Bless The Rains expands Toto's Africa into an extended edit on the first side, using the original's synthesizers, chords and vocals to build its groove. My Body's On Fire revisits Janet Jackson's Put Your Hands On on the reverse, followed by Not In Love Anymore, a slower-moving treatment of Michael McDonald's I Keep Forgettin'. The twelve-inch brings these three sources into Late Nite Tuff Guy's club-focused edit style, with one long track on side A and two cuts on side B.
