About this release
Makam returns to Dekmantel with Tarp, an album that uses house music as a starting point for dub, live instrumentation and playful rhythmic experiments. Guy Blanken moves from the driving pulse of Static Shade to the disco swing of La Tuna and Flying Birds, keeping percussion and movement at the centre. Dub In Loen explores dub techno, Lummel Spirit drifts towards Balearic rhythms and Diagonal Rain draws on steppers. Jackie B brings a deep house focus to a record whose changing textures leave room for both dancefloor momentum and relaxed listening. This double-vinyl programme opens with La Tuna.
