About this release
Tanda combines MF DOOM’s rap performances with Tatsuro Yamashita’s pop and funk recordings in an eight-track mashup album. Dan Tanda’s project places the contrasting voices and arrangements within new rhythmic settings, moving from Rae Sparkle and Windy Ladies to the closing Vomitspit Daydream. The combinations connect hip-hop phrasing with the melodic character of Japanese city pop, keeping the programme compact across two sides. This DT001 vinyl edition presents four tracks on each side.
