About this release
MFSB and The Three Degrees' Love Is The Message returns with T.S.O.P. (The Sound Of Philadelphia) on the reverse. Tom Moulton's extended mixes give both recordings a twelve-inch setting, placing the ensemble's instrumental arrangements and vocal contributions within longer grooves. Love Is The Message occupies the A-side in its full eleven-minute version, while the Soul Train theme T.S.O.P. completes the pairing. This Philadelphia International reissue preserves the two extended programmes, with one track on each side. The record brings two closely connected pieces of Philadelphia soul and disco together in a single format.
