About this release
Motor Mouth Drum Ensemble bring contrasting shades of disco and synth-funk to Creative Use on Highballs At The Beach Club. Singapore Ray opens with a mid-tempo disco-pop rhythm and a playful melodic feel. On the reverse, Night-Mine slows the pace into a more dramatic, low-slung Balearic arrangement, leaving room for atmosphere around the groove. Fool You For Real then turns towards a cooler, digital synth-funk sound. The EP moves through these different textures while keeping an emphasis on clear rhythmic movement, offering a range of moods across its three pieces without losing the record’s relaxed, club-oriented character.
