About this release
Onda Boa pairs Netinho’s Du Du Du Domingo with a new edit from label founder Joutro Mundo. Taken from the drummer’s 1982 album Apartamento 97, the original combines bubbling synth bass, nimble electric bass and a distinctive keyboard melody, breaking into samba before drifting towards crowd sounds. Joutro Mundo’s 45 Edit sharpens the rhythm with crisp hi-hats and a heavier kick, bringing the samba passage and electric bass further forward. The pairing preserves the song’s unusual character while giving its groove a different shape, connecting Netinho’s pop-rock and funk period with Onda Boa’s approach to dancefloor reworking.
