About this release
Nickodemus revisits two collaborations from his 2023 album Soul & Science with remixes by Ben Gomori and Tigerbalm. Gomori reshapes Rumba Tobacco y Ron, featuring Haydée Soul, into a chopped electronic cut while keeping the horns, piano and voice central to the song. The original collaboration connects Puerto Rico and Cuba through Tempo & The Candela All-Stars. On the reverse, Tigerbalm gives Mama Tchipp (Follow Me) a four-on-the-floor pulse, with Pat Kalla’s vocal riding a steady bassline and punchy drums. The pair brings two distinct remix approaches to the same collaborative album.
