About this release
Joaquin Joe Claussell takes on Inner Light, the Nicola Conte and Gianluca Petrella recording featuring vocalist Raashan Ahmad. Drawn from their People Need People album, the song becomes the starting point for two extended Sacred Rhythm interpretations: the Cosmic Arts Version and Cosmic Arts Dub Version. Each runs close to ten minutes, giving Claussell room to develop the material across the two sides of a 12-inch.
The first in a trilogy of remix EPs drawn from the duo’s 2021 album, the record presents Claussell’s vocal treatment alongside a dub that removes Ahmad’s voice and gives the instrumental arrangement more room. The wider series also brings interpretations by Anthony Nicholson, DJ Spinna and Tall Black Guy to the People Need People material.
