About this release
NU's 'Man O To' combines electronic rhythms with a Persian vocal performed by Ghazal Shakeri, drawn from a recording by composer Armand Amar. Its text comes from Rumi's poetry, with the voice giving the steadily unfolding arrangement its centre. The track appeared on Acid Pauli's Get Lost compilation in 2012 before receiving a single release through Crosstown Rebels. Pépé Bradock and Be Svendsen each reshape the original, keeping its vocal character while taking the rhythm and atmosphere in different directions. This three-track twelve-inch pairs NU's original with those two remixes, tracing the song from its initial appearance to two contrasting reinterpretations.
