About this release
Kenny Dope and Louie Vega’s Nu Yorican Soul project brings jazz, Latin, hip-hop and house influences together on ‘The Nervous Track’. Originally released by Nervous Records in 1993, the production sets deep pads and bass against firm breakbeats, reflecting the duo’s broad musical background as Masters At Work. This four-mix 12-inch presents the Ballsy and Horny mixes on the first side, with the Yellow and U.N. mixes on the reverse. Remastered from the original DAT recordings in conjunction with Nervous Records, the reissue brings those different treatments together on a single record.
