About this release
Pal Joey's #2 pairs Party Time with Raw Love on a Loop D' Loop twelve-inch. Originally released in 1990, the two tracks reflect his sample-led approach to New York house, using loops, rhythmic fills and deliberately uneven phrasing rather than dense arrangements. Party Time takes the first side, working through stuttering beats and shifting fragments. Raw Love follows on the reverse, building from a disco sample with added percussion and effects. This reissue brings the two recordings together under catalogue number LDLZ102, preserving a compact pairing from the early years of the label he ran with Reynald Deschamps.
