About this release
Patrick Adams' Phreek brings three disco recordings together on this South Street Disco twelve-inch. Weekend, written by Leroy Burgess and James Calloway and produced by Adams and Burgess, became a fixture of Larry Levan's Paradise Garage sets after its original 1978 release. Its synthesizers, strings and guitar give the vocal an expansive instrumental setting. Everybody Loves A Good Thing follows on the first side, featuring Leroy Burgess and Venus Dodson, while I'm A Big Freak occupies the full reverse. This official, remastered release presents the three tracks as a compact introduction to Phreek's combination of vocals, electronic keyboards and live disco rhythm.
