About this release
Heels & Souls brings Stéphane Novak’s only Pilgrims Of The Mind album to vinyl after its original 1997 CD release on Vancouver’s Map Music. What’s Your Shrine? moves between progressive house, downtempo, ambient music and trance, reflecting a local scene that allowed those ideas to coexist. 'Sandcastle' and 'Following The Sofuto Kuriimo' offer more reflective passages, while 'My Baby Likes Rum' and 'Loosejaw' turn towards the dancefloor. Justin Drake remastered the original unmastered DATs for this double LP. The gatefold package includes notes by Ciel and Novak, alongside archival photography that adds context to the music.
