About this release
Quiet Village reinterpret Barry Reynolds’ Till The Doctor Gets Back, connecting the song’s early-1980s Island Records background with their own electronic dub approach. Recorded in 2024, Joel Martin and Matt Edwards’ version combines a new vocal interpretation with layered synths, reverb and delay, allowing the melodies to develop at an unhurried pace. The reverse features Mad Professor, the first remixer commissioned by the duo for the project. His version gives the recording a deeper dub treatment while maintaining its slow-burning character. Released on The Quiet Village imprint, the single brings the original song and its studio reconstruction into a two-sided conversation.
