Quiet Village & Vanessa Daou - Naked Hunger

Quiet Village join forces with Vanessa Daou for Naked Hunger, the second release on Matt Edwards and Joel Martin’s own imprint. The collaboration centres on a mid-tempo house groove, with Daou’s sung and spoken delivery woven into the duo’s subtly dubby, atmospheric production. On the Vocal Mix, the contrast between the two vocal approaches gives the arrangement its shape, while the Spoken Word Mix brings bass guitar and piano flourishes further forward around her poetic delivery. Following Reunion, the record continues Quiet Village’s spacious approach to rhythm across two versions of the same song.
