About this release
Quirke's Configuration OT brings Josh Quirke's atmospheric approach to dance music into a more direct club setting for Dekmantel. “Underdetermined” moves from an exposed synth introduction into the full weight of its rhythm, while “The OT3” sets dense percussion against haunted pads. On the second side, “Worth Variation” folds its blurred textures into a dub-techno pulse, before “Ten Times Over Crystal Fruit” works through shifting arrangements and bright layers of noise. Following releases for Young and Whities, these four tracks keep Quirke's melodic sensitivity and rough-edged detail in view while giving the rhythms greater immediacy.
