About this release
Rahaan’s Edits Collection 4 gathers four reworks that move between funk, disco and soulful dance music. ‘Project Funk’ opens with a prominent bass line and horns, followed by the more melodic ‘Shangri La’. On the reverse, ‘Tribe Dance’ places percussion at the centre before ‘Deeper’ closes with a soulful direction. The Chicago DJ’s selection brings together different rhythms and textures within a four-track EP, giving the two sides contrasting shapes. Released through Edits Collection, the 12-inch presents the complete sequence from ‘Project Funk’ to ‘Deeper’.
