About this release
Laurin Rinder and W. Michael Lewis build Seven Deadly Sins around seven contrasting pieces, using synthesizers, percussion and funk arrangements to give each its own character. Recorded in 1977, the mostly instrumental album moves from the layered pulse of “Lust” into the driving “Sloth” and darker textures of “Gluttony”. “Pride” brings keyboard-led jazz-funk into focus, while the vocal cut “Envy” combines guitar breaks with electronic flourishes. Heavy percussion shapes “Anger”, before “Covetousness” closes with another rhythmic workout. Be With’s official reissue presents the full seven-track album on 140g vinyl, with newly remastered audio.
