About this release
East Of Any Place gathers ten Rogér Fakhr recordings made in Beirut during the late 1970s, discovered while Habibi Funk was preparing Fine Anyway. Released as a companion to that collection, the songs retain the character of their original sessions, with Fakhr’s voice and folk-driven arrangements at the centre. The short opening pieces lead into the title track and Queen Of Diamonds before longer songs such as For Free and Rainhill give the second half more space. Bruna-Maria Naufal joins Road Of Farewell. Habibi Funk’s LP includes a twelve-page booklet with background material, interviews and photographs documenting the music and its setting.
