Roy Hamilton & Capiche - Turn up the Music

Turn Up The Music pairs Roy Hamilton with Cosmo Bowen and Dennis Palmer, musicians who had played together in the nine-piece funk group Breeze. Their shared background included regular appearances upstairs at Ronnie Scott's during the early 1980s. In 1984, they released this single on their own HBS imprint, combining the band's funk and soul roots in a relaxed dancefloor arrangement. Freestyle Records' reissue brings the recording back to 12-inch vinyl with both the vocal track and its instrumental counterpart. The two versions offer different ways into the same groove, keeping the original single's straightforward format.
