About this release
Volume 01 captures Scott Gilmore’s instrumental writing through a Tascam 388 tape recorder, combining analogue synthesizers with guitar, bass, clarinet and bamboo alto saxophone. First released in 2016, the nine-track album brings lo-fi rhythms and melodic keyboard lines into brief, loosely structured pieces. Horizon Line allows its central rhythm to support improvised runs, while Shade and Song For Cate offer more reflective settings before D. Hareem closes the sequence. The recordings balance electronic patterns with hand-played instruments, keeping the arrangements intimate and spontaneous. In Sheep’s Clothing Hi-Fi presents this first vinyl edition remastered and pressed at 45 rpm.
