About this release
The Blaxound and John Vermont draw on their shared love of 1960s and 1970s soul for this two-song single on Matasuna Records. Based in Barcelona, the band and singer bring that influence into original compositions sung in Spanish, balancing Vermont’s expressive voice with carefully arranged instrumental parts and harmonies. ‘No Es Por Ti’ takes the A-side, paired with ‘Qué Más Te Da?’ on the reverse. Both songs come from their album and are presented together as a 7-inch, connecting a vintage soul vocabulary with contemporary songwriting and Spanish-language vocals.
