About this release
The James Taylor Quartet channels a punk and rock ’n’ roll streak on ‘Put Your Hands Up’, pairing the title song with ‘Feet On The Ground’. James Taylor traces the single’s inspiration to his time in The Prisoners, when the band supported The Ramones on a UK tour in 1986. Its emphatic chorus draws on that experience and the energy he associates with JTQ’s live performances. Released through JTI Records, this two-track seven-inch places that more direct side of the quartet’s sound in a compact single format.
