About this release
Journey on Az Ma’ar Moon is The Selenites Band’s third studio album, conceived as a trip to an imaginary moon. The French collective develops its ethio-jazz approach through improvisation, repeating rhythms and an ensemble that combines flute, baritone sax, guitar, bass, drums, percussion and synthesisers. Short Behind Az Ma’ar passages connect the longer pieces, giving the record a recurring theme as the narrative unfolds. Recorded at Grand Studio in Aulnoye-Aymeries, the album is produced by Penrose Records and Tourtan Company. Its vinyl master is prepared at Massilia Sound Factory, with Tonton Ringo providing the engraved artwork.
