About this release
Tunde Mabadu's Viva Disco brings Nigerian disco and boogie together in a six-track album originally issued on Afrodisia in 1980. The vinyl programme opens with Alabosi, Disco Press Funk and Amupara Ko Ma Dara, before moving through African Parowo and Angelina – Sugar Daddy to the instrumental title track. Mabadu's recordings connect funk rhythms with the disco sound circulating in Nigeria at the turn of the decade. This Mr Bongo reissue is licensed from Mabadu and PMG, presenting the complete album across two sides.
