About this release
Turn On The Sunlight is the long-running project of musician and producer Jesse Peterson. Iseo brings acoustic instruments, electronics and environmental recordings into open, exploratory pieces, with collaborators including Carlos Niño, Mia Doi Todd, Laraaji, Ko Ishikawa, Luis Pérez Ixoneztli and Miles Spilsbury. Synthesizers sit beneath guitar, zither, flute and voice, moving between close instrumental detail and more expansive textures. The title piece takes the form of a gentle lullaby, sung by Luis Pérez Ixoneztli to Peterson’s son. Released on Music From Memory, the seven-track vinyl album follows a shared, improvisatory language shaped by its musicians and recording environments.
