About this release
Ric Piccolo and Ariel Harari compile Argentine soul, funk and disco recordings on Danza Secreta: Lost & Hidden Grooves From Argentina 1970-1980. The selection draws on small-label releases and independent studio sessions, bringing together musicians whose shared interest in experimentation reached beyond a single scene. Alongside the original recordings are reworks by the compilers, including Disco Tango, Dando Lecciones and City Girl. BBE’s edition places the music in the context of cultural resistance during a period of political repression. Remastered at The Carvery, the double album comes in a gatefold sleeve with a bilingual booklet documenting the recordings and their history.
