About this release
Yana Pavlova's voice and lyrics meet Pavel Milyakov's composition and recording on Thrill, released by Psy X in her memory. Made across four years, the album moves through ambient passages, field recordings, loosely jazz-inflected playing and blurred guitar textures. The pieces leave room for fragile vocals and small shifts in sound rather than settling into a single form. Alongside the duo's material are versions of So Hot (Wash Away All Of My Tears), written by Jason Pierce, and Song To The Siren, written by Tim Buckley with lyrics by Larry Beckett. The programme preserves the intimacy of their collaborative language.
