About this release
Ryo Fukui’s Scenery captures the Hokkaido pianist’s debut album from 1976. With Satoshi Denpo on bass and Yoshinori Fukui on drums, the trio brings clarity, swing and melodic detail to a set that moves between jazz standards and expansive piano passages.
‘It Could Happen To You’ opens the record, followed by ‘I Want To Talk About You’ and ‘Early Summer’. The second side pairs ‘Willow Weep For Me’ and ‘Autumn Leaves’ with the title track. This Solid Records reissue presents the six-track album on vinyl LP.
