About this release
Arp Frique and The Perpetual Singers bring gospel vocals into a setting of P-funk, disco, synthesisers, bass and guitar on The Gospel of Jesamy. Inspired by the birth of Arp Frique’s daughter, the seven-track album centres on love and connection. Brandon Delagraentiss and Rocq-E Harrell share lead vocals across much of the record, joined by The Gospel Experience choir and longtime collaborator Mariseya. Muriel Blijd features on ‘Father Father’, while Dennis Bovell appears on ‘Look Up Johnny’. Released through Colorful World, the album connects ensemble singing with Arp Frique’s organic, funk-based production.
