About this release
Doug Shorts pairs his soulful vocals with West Coast production duo Cosmic Slide on Day By Day. Their collaboration brings a singer with releases on Daptone, Cherries and Jazzman into a modern funk setting, connecting his Chicago soul background with a new production partnership. The Cosmic Slide Mix puts Shorts’ performance at the centre of the arrangement; the instrumental offers the same song without the lead vocal, giving the backing its own space. Released by Trueschool Ltd, this two-version single is pressed as a limited run of 200 copies.
Format: 7" vinyl, limited to 200 copies
