About this release
Esa launches Aweh Music with two recordings from his soundtrack for The Invisible Hand podcast. I See You brings in Doval and Robert Roper of Special Touch, the duo behind Garden Of Life, for a modern street-soul collaboration.
On the reverse, Aweh No Wahala pairs Esa with his sister Tasneem and Franck Biyong, whose organ, guitar and opening vocals contribute to its mix of soul, Balearic and Afrobeat influences. Recorded during the pandemic, with several sessions taking place remotely, the tracks also involve London musicians including Ayo Salawu, Raquel Martins, Amane Suganami and Manu Idra.
