About this release
At Last! introduced the extraordinary range of Etta James' voice across blues, rhythm and blues, and orchestral ballads. Originally issued in 1960, her debut album moves from the tenderness of the title track and A Sunday Kind Of Love to the assertive swing of I Just Want To Make Love To You.
Stormy Weather and All I Could Do Was Cry underline the emotional depth of a singer equally at home with a standard or a direct, unguarded plea. This vinyl LP reissue forms part of the Chess Records 75th Anniversary Series and presents the album's original ten-track programme.
