About this release
New Orleans group Family Underground pair their interpretation of the Isley Brothers’ ‘For The Love Of You’ with ‘Everybody Knows’. Led by Roland Treaudo and Manuel Herrera Jr., the band developed its sound through live performances, including a long-running residency at Whitey’s Devil’s Den. ‘Everybody Knows’ was recorded at Cosimo Matassa’s Warehouse Studio in 1975, while the stripped-back ‘For The Love Of You’ followed the next year. Together, the recordings capture the group’s connection to Southern soul and funk. This Power Funksion Records edition brings both songs together on heavyweight seven-inch vinyl.
